Loving The Lantern Trust

Weymouth Rotary are proud to share news of the first of a series of new year donations to local charities – giving £400 to Weymouth’s ‘The Lantern Trust’.

Rotary members braved the elements in the weeks up to Christmas in their traditional spot, outside The Range in the town centre, bringing festive cheer and collecting donations for local good causes. As usual, 100% of the monies raised will be given to local charities.

The Lantern Trust and Weymouth Rotary have a longstanding partnership, recently providing hundreds of quality flasks and soup to give their clients something warm to eat in the cold winter months – and be able to return for refills on a regular basis. We hope that this additional donation helps further the good work the charity does in the town.

Weymouth Rotary president, Jerry Way, said “we are proud to support our local hard-working charities and the volunteers at the Lantern Trust work tirelessly to help those not so fortunate in our community. I’m thrilled that we have been able to donate a further £400 to the cause”.

The Lantern Trust posted on Facebook “a huge thank you to Weymouth Rotary club for their kind donation towards our work. Our partnership with them is yet another example of how our community works together to meet the needs of our society’s most vulnerable”.
