Free Holidays For Underprivileged Families

Weymouth Rotary are proud to have helped Eweleaze Campsite in Osmington provide holidays to local families who wouldn’t otherwise be able to enjoy a summer break.

The idea came from local, Kim Fudge, who approached the campsite – and Home Start West Dorset, the NEST and Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Weymouth and Portland nominated households that would benefit.

Weymouth Rotary provided £20 of vouchers to each family to buy the basics needed for a happy holiday – whether toiletries, summer clothes or otherwise.

President, David Langridge, said “I am pleased we have been able to support these families in need to get a welcome break.”

Further help was provided by Refresh who supplied breakfast boxes, Weyline Taxis provided transport to and from the site, Fish’n’Fritz donated fish and chip suppers and Campers Corner at The Stable Door gave out children’s fun packs.
